The Möbius Sequence

The Möbius Sequence takes us to a future where Earth is pushing for the stars, with Mars settled by colonists and MaCE ships developed that can take humanity into the galaxy.

In 2192, a space station in the shape of a Möbius strip was built in orbit around the planet as a “stepping stone to the stars”. Almost a century later, disputes between Earth government and the inhabitants of Möbius led to a series of bloody riots, known as the Secession, and the founding of the Free Republic of Möbius – an essentially lawless yet joyous place. In the fighting, the station’s infrastructure was damaged and the station’s AI deliberately crippled.

Now the station is broken-down, its superstructure creaking, life-support motors seizing-up, computer hardware out of date, oxygen venting through a thousand hairline cracks in its bulkheads, hard radiation leeching in to balance it out. Volunteer techs keep it operational and the inhabitants alive.

It is on Möbius Station that we first meet Mab Winter – an ex-police officer from London, living there under a pseudonym. She no longer has any interest in solving murders, in doing the right thing. But fate has other ideas when someone comes knocking on her door in the middle of the night…
